On May 3rd, 2025, Siena Heights University proudly welcomed graduates, families, and friends to our Adrian campus for a truly special occasion—Commencement 2025.
With back-to-back ceremonies honoring both our SHU Global Online and Residential graduates, the weekend was a joyful tribute to perseverance, achievement, and the Dominican spirit that defines our community. This year also marks our first time having both ceremonies outdoors!
The celebration began with our SHU Global Online graduates who have pursued their degrees online or through degree completion centers across the country. Though their paths to Siena were varied, they shared in the same outstanding achievement. Many traveled from out of state to participate in the on-campus ceremony, bringing powerful stories of resilience, determination, and inspiration.
Later, we honored our Residential graduates, many of whom spent the last four years growing and learning right here on campus. In addition to academics, many have been involved in campus organizations, athletics, and everything in between. The ceremony was filled with moments of reflection, gratitude, and a charge to lead with purpose in the world beyond Siena Heights.
To the Class of 2025: You have embodied the Siena Heights mission—to become more competent, purposeful, and ethical. We are incredibly proud of everything you have accomplished here and can’t wait to see where your journey leads next.
President Douglas Palmer encouraged graduates to carry the university’s values into the world, stating,
“Remember the emphasis on truth, justice, community, and service that has shaped your time here. Let these principles be your compass as you navigate the complexities of the world. And never forget the powerful words of St. Catherine of Siena: ‘If you are what you should be, you will set the whole world on fire.’”
